Surgery is done after locating the cancerous tumour, finding its spread, and diagnosing cancer. It may also be used to restore body’s appearance and relieve the body of the side effects that may have been caused by the disease or its treatment.
Dr Vikas Palkar MS (Bom), FRCS (Glasgow)
Dr Vikas M Palkar completed his MBBS from Grant Medical College n Sir J J group of Hospitals in 1990.He did his MS from the prestigious Tata Memorial Hospital in 1993.
He was sponsored to pursue FRCS & work in renowned hospitals like the Royal Marsden in London,Royal Liverpool in Liverpool and Mater hospital in Belfast.
He is a Consultant at the department of Surgical Oncology in Saifee Hospital.He has over a decade of rich professional experience in his field and has treated several patients suffering from cancers in India and gives every patient the best of medical care. He has published several papers in India and abroad and is a member of prestigious medical associations. He believes in promoting health awareness and following a healthy lifestyle.
Dr. Rajesh Shinde
Dr. Rajesh Shinde did his general surgical residency from Bombay hospital institute of medical sciences, Mumbai, under supervision of Prof.VN Shrikhande. During his tenure as surgical registrar, he had the opportunity to do wide variety of general surgical work under supervision of skillful and renowned faculties in general and GI surgery.
He pursued his dream to acquire excellence in oncology care and started M.Ch surgical oncology training at prestigious Tata Memorial hospital, Mumbai. He underwent training in different surgical departments like Head Neck oncology, Breast Oncology, Thoracic & GI oncology, Bone & soft tissue services & Uro-oncology. During this training, he had an opportunity to learn the finer aspects of the surgical oncology.
He also has international fellowship in robotic and laparoscopic surgery with Prof. Song Dup Yoon, Prof. Hyung and Prof. Nam Kyu Kim at Severance Hospital, Yonsei University, Seoul in South Korea.
Dr Shinde was also awarded international training fellowship from European society of surgical oncology (ESSO)
